Clear Braces: the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth
At Q Dental in Bella Vista we offer Clear Braces. This modern orthodontic treatment is a discreet, effective and efficient way to correct crooked teeth. It is also a popular orthodontic choice because it’s subtle, removable and it works.
When you visit Q Dental, we will assess your oral health. If you are a suitable candidate for Clear Braces, the next step will involve explaining the entire process as well as taking impressions of your teeth.
These impressions are then sent off to America where a digitalised treatment plan is sent back to us. The digitalised treatment plan allows us to show you what your teeth will look like after the treatment.
Two weeks after the impressions are sent we will receive all the aligners you will need for the treatment. The average patient will wear each set of aligners for two weeks: each new set of aligners will slowly and gradually straighten your teeth.
Advantages of Clear Braces
Clear Braces have a number of advantages when compared to traditional orthodontic treatments:
You can take your aligners off when you eat, drink, brush and floss. This allows you to eat all your favourite foods without worrying about food getting stuck in your braces. But you must brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in.
Being able to brush and floss regularly during treatment means fewer visits to the dentist as well as maintain optimal oral hygiene.
The aligners are virtually invisible so no one will even know you’re undergoing treatment. This means that your aligners won’t adversely affect your confidence when you smile.
- Fewer visits to the dentist
The severity of your orthodontic case will determine how often you visit Q Dental for a check-up. But because you can brush and floss regularly this means fewer visits to the dentist. Why? Because with traditional orthodontic you would need regular visits to the dentist for cleaning, and tightening of the brackets. With Clear Braces, there are no brackets and braces to clean and you can access your teeth easily.
Length of treatment
Treatment generally takes around 9-18 months depending on your oral health. Another thing that will impact the length of your treatment time is your compliance with the treatment. Unlike traditional orthodontics, Clear Braces does rely on you wearing them as often as your dentist prescribes. Failure to wear them as often as suggested could negatively impact the treatment time as well as the results.
