If you have multiple aesthetic concerns, cosmetic dental veneers may be the ideal treatment for you…

Veneers are slim but strong shells that are custom designed to mimic the exact shade and translucent properties of your natural tooth enamel. These natural properties of veneers allow us to effectively create a natural looking result for a seamless smile. The veneers are then permanently bonded to your teeth to visibly erase a range of aesthetic concerns such as:

  • Discolouration
  • Asymmetry
  • Gaps
  • Chips and cracks
  • Teeth that are too short or too long

The great thing about this dental treatment is that for some patients it can be used as a substitute for traditional orthodontics. With good care, this cosmetic dental treatment should last for over a decade.

What are the benefits of porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are becoming more popular as patients are opting for this treatment over other more lengthy or painful treatments. The great thing about porcelain veneers is that they:

  • Are stain resistant, keeping your smile beautiful for longer
  • Can be applied in just two visits
  • Are strong, durable and long lasting
  • Can conceal a wide range of dental flaws
  • Can be used for one singular problem tooth or on all the teeth in the smile zone for a total transformation

In the past veneers were made from just one shade – white! This made dental transformations, while beautiful, look fake and very obvious. Our veneers are crafted from a strong porcelain material which can be colour-matched to the shade of your other teeth for a seamless, natural-looking and virtually invisible result.

Preparing for your veneers…

At Q Dental in Bella Vista we use strong, durable and long lasting porcelain veneers to ensure your results are optimal. There is a certain amount of preparation of the tooth that is required before the veneers can be placed, and this includes minimal shaving down of the structure so the veneer can sit perfectly over the prepared tooth. We will then take a mould of your prepared teeth so we can send the impressions to the lab to custom make each veneer. This is a very specialised process and may take some time for them to be produced. Once finished, we will then apply the veneers to your teeth to immediately refresh, rejuvenate and sometimes transform your smile.

Taking care of your veneers…

Porcelain veneers are very durable but are not indestructible – take care of your veneers by avoiding chewing on hard foods such as ice and maintaining your usual oral hygiene routine which should include brushing twice a day and flossing before bed.
